Ministry Centre

During the mid nineties St. John’s Anglican Church through a series of their clergy (Rev. Peter Kemp, Rev. David Mulready and Bishop Brian King) began encouraging our ministry and we were given permission to use a branch church property in south Parramatta for our activities.

With a large block of land it became apparent that this was ideal for our motorcycle ministry and had great potential for other aspects as well.

After several years of prayer and concept development with the Parish Council at St. Johns Parramatta, the Sydney Diocese approved a long term lease for us to use and develop the property.

With the support of our Christian friends, volunteers from a local ‘Work For the Dole Project’ and an interest free loan from St. John’s, Street Level has put a relocatable house on site, developed a Brotherhood CMC Clubhouse and a church office.

Recent additions have included a garage and storage shed as well as the redevelopment of the main building to include a Bible study and counselling room.

Over the last eight years this facility has enabled Street Level to run its regular informal worship and Brotherhood CMC meetings as well as fund raising dinners, garage sales, conferences on Christian motorcycling and homelessness and support a number of local motorcycling organisations who work in partnership with Brotherhood CMC in approaching governments in a peaceful and responsible fashion.

The Caring and Ministry Centre also provides a place for the Parramatta Street Youth Project to meet and provides space for free for Christian bands and the occasional wedding and a new addition to Brotherhood’s Outreach, a quarterly Bikers Church Service.

Street Level would like to thank the Anglican Church’s Sydney Diocese for its ongoing and gracious support in the development of this ministry centre.
